There’s only One Direction this is going to go

I never thought it was happen so soon. Erica is only coming up on five years old so I thought I’d maybe still have a few years to go before a daughter of mine fell head over heels in love with a boy band. I was hoping for a good five years before the screaming and swooning started. What I didn’t count on was Greer.

Greer has fallen in love with One Direction. She’s Two.

Not only does her face light up when she hears their songs come on the car radio but she knows the words and sings along. It’s not just that though. She knows how to use her mum’s laptop and so sits on the bed in the morning whilst her mum gets ready for work and watches the videos on Youtube. When one finishes she’ll find the next one she likes and start playing it. She will then pause it every ten seconds or so and say to whoever is in the room “I like him” and point at one of the boys.

At least with Vonnie’s obsession with Take That I know who the band members are and what the songs sound like so that I can run screaming from the room before my brain melts. With One Direction I don’t have a clue. The one she likes is called Barry or something. I don’t know. The one with the hair that makes him look like he’s stuck his head in a giant muffin. Then again the number of times she pauses the video to declare her love for whoever is on the screen it could be anyone of them for all I know.

I thought it was bad enough with the eldest listening to LMFAO and Eminem but I’d completely forgotten how bad boy bands are!

I have to say, looking at that photo I think they all look they’ve stuck their heads in giant muffins. The one in front looks like he’s got his hoody on back to front. And I bet they all need to pull their trousers up, too.

I suspect I am now officially Too Old for boy bands.
